Delete your account and data
What Keppet keeps and how to have it deleted
The short version: your ledger is in your own storage, and you delete it there. Keppet's servers keep a small set of records, listed below. To have them deleted, email [email protected] with your sign-in provider and username. There is no delete button in the app.
What Keppet's servers hold
- A sign-in record: a one-way hash of your sign-in provider and username, the provider name, and the first and last sign-in dates.
- Keppet AI usage: the same hash with a count of AI uses and your subscription status, and daily request counts.
- Subscription and purchase records: the payment provider's reference for your subscription, your plan, status and renewal dates. For Google Play purchases, also the purchase token and product.
- Gift code records: which hashed ID redeemed a code and when, and a log of access changes made by the operator.
- Receipt photos: every photo you snap, attach or share is stored on Keppet's servers.
- Bug reports: your message, any screenshots, and the technical details listed on the support page.
- A notification email address: only if you turned on the email option in Settings, and only until that one email is sent.
The ledger itself is not on this list. Keppet's servers do not store it.
What you can delete yourself
- Your ledger: delete the keppet-data repository on your git provider, or the keppet-data folder in your Google Drive or OneDrive. That is the master copy.
- The copy on your device: Settings, then Clear all data. It clears the accounts, transactions and budgets of the space you are in, on this device.
- Receipt photos waiting to be used: in Talk, the waiting receipts have a dismiss button that deletes the photo from Keppet's servers. It works for a photo that no transaction uses. It is not available for sign-ins from self-hosted Gitea, Forgejo or GitLab servers.
Receipt photos that a transaction uses, and every other record on the list above, are deleted by request.
How to request deletion
Email [email protected] from the address you use for your account, naming your sign-in provider and your username. For a bug report, say roughly when you sent it. We will ask you to confirm that you control the account before we delete anything. We will delete the records within one month.
What is kept
- Stripe, Google and Apple keep their own payment records under their own rules. Deleting Keppet's records does not remove them.
- Payment records that the law requires Keppet to keep.
- Daily totals that carry no identifier.
Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it first: on the website, open Settings and choose Manage under your subscription. For an Android purchase, open your Google Play subscriptions.
